Lesson 2 of 3

Serving guests the right way

Greeting, taking orders and serving like a professional steward.

3 min +10 points

Welcome

Greet guests within a minute of arrival, with a smile: "Good evening, welcome." Help them to a table and offer water and the menu.

Taking the order

  • Stand at the side of the table, not behind the guest.
  • Repeat the order back to check it.
  • Ask about spice levels and allergies.

Serving

Serve from the guest's left and clear plates from the right. Hold plates by the edges, never touching the food. Check back after a few minutes: "Is everything alright?"

The bill

Bring the bill when asked, place it near the host, and thank them warmly when they leave.
